BUSINESS FOCUS: STEAM & Dream Summits!

The STEAM & Dream Summits work to create an access point for future tech careers and create a community of care for youth on their journey. We present Wellness, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Financial Literacy sessions, along with role models in the tech world. Connect Business Consulting will be leading the 2023 efforts for the STEAM & Dream National City Tour. We will program manage and support all aspects of each Summit curation and the community activations. Working with partners, including sponsor American Family Insurance, we will soon announce our 2023 lineup of quality programs for youth. Below are summaries of the 2022 Summits, which served several hundred youth and adults in Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Chicago!

Atlanta Summit in May: The Atlanta summit offered sessions with podcasters Earn Your Leisure and other expert speakers. The audience was lined up at the door, waiting for the program to start!

Milwaukee Summit in July: Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and American Family CEO Bill Westrate joined our Youth and Adult Milwaukee Summit to give remarks on Leadership as other speakers covered Web 3, and more.

Chicago Summit in August: Our attendees gained valuable collaboration time on STEM projects at the Museum of Science and Industry and heard from inspiring role models, including musician and actor Jacob Latimore.

PROGRAM FOCUS: Hour of Tech

Fantastic excitement around the Hour of Tech to close out 2022! I saw first-hand the engagement of students from Notre Dame Middle School at Milwaukee School of Engineering. Thanks to sponsor Northwestern Mutual for that event! Also, I joined Milwaukee Bucks tech experts at St. Joan Antida High School.

Every year, it’s rewarding to see more schools in Southeastern Wisconsin join the program. In one example, Woodlands School in Milwaukee gave each student a chance to experience working in a virtual reality (VR) laboratory with robots and STEM activities. Building on student experiences with VR gaming, the program showed how VR is used in education and in the workplace.

Hour of Tech Expands: Milwaukee students at Woodlands School are just some of the region's students who learned about the future of tech in 2022.

Expanding our reach: At Baird in Milwaukee during Milwaukee Tech Week, I showcased past Hour of Tech events and held a Q&A session for local partners regarding how to participate.

RELATIONSHIPS FOCUS: Now in the MMAC!

So pleased to announce that Connect Business Consulting is now in the MMAC network with fellow members of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce. There will be opportunities to build new strong relationships and help promote the Region of Choice (ROC) initiative to increase Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Stay tuned!
